24K 999.9 purity explained
- 999.9 = 99.99% gold. The standard for modern investment bars.
- 999.0 = 99.9% gold. Still 24K, common on some cast bars such as TT bars.
- 995.0 = 99.5% gold. The minimum for the large bars traded between banks.
All three are 24 karat. A bar’s value follows its fine gold content: weight multiplied by purity.

Collection, delivery and storage
Most Dubai dealers let you collect your bar in person and check it, its serial number and certificate before you leave. Some offer insured delivery or vault storage; ask about costs and insurance cover before you pay. See how to buy gold in Dubai and invest in gold in the UAE for storage options.
Frequently asked questions
Which gold bar is best to buy?
It depends on your budget and plans. Bars from 50 g to 1 kg carry the lowest premium per gram. Smaller bars (1 g to 20 g) cost more per gram but are easier to gift or sell in parts. Bars from well-known refiners are easier to resell.
What does 999.9 mean on a gold bar?
It is the fineness: 999.9 parts of pure gold per 1,000, or 99.99% gold, also called 24 karat or “four nines” gold.
What is the price of a 24K gold bar in the UAE?
Each card on this page shows the bar’s gold value at today’s live rate. A dealer’s price adds a premium that depends on size and brand.
Are gold bars in Abu Dhabi priced differently from Dubai?
The gold rate is the same across the UAE. Differences come from each seller’s premium and stock.
Do gold bars come with a certificate?
Minted bars usually come sealed in a certificate card. Cast bars are often sold with a separate certificate. In every case, the dealer’s invoice should show weight, purity and serial number.
What is a gold ingot?
Ingot is another word for a cast gold bar. In Dubai you will also hear “biscuit” for the same product.
