Selling process

How do I start?

Value your gold with the gold value calculator, then ask two or three buyers for an indicative offer with photos, weight and brand.

How long does a sale take?

For recognised bars and coins, usually a single visit.

Can I sell jewellery to a bullion buyer?

Some do, but most bullion buyers focus on bars and coins. Jewellers are usually the main buyers of jewellery.

Can I sell only part of my gold?

Yes. You choose which bars or coins to sell.

Sell gold in Dubai without receipt: documents and KYC

Can I sell gold in Dubai without receipt?

Often yes. The buyer tests the gold, checks your ID and asks you to sign a declaration that you own it. For large amounts, expect more questions about where the gold came from.

What ID do I need?

Emirates ID or passport, for every sale.

Can someone sell gold on my behalf?

Some buyers accept a representative with a power of attorney and both IDs; policies vary, so ask first.

Do companies need extra documents?

Yes: trade licence and ID of the authorised signatory.

Payment

How will I be paid?

Usually by bank transfer; some buyers pay cash within legal limits, and some by cheque.

When will I be paid?

Often on the day for recognised items; bank transfers may take a business day to arrive.

Is there a limit on cash?

UAE dealers must report transactions of AED 55,000 or more made in cash or by wire transfer and identify the seller. Larger amounts are commonly paid by transfer.

Testing

Will testing damage my gold?

Standard tests are non-destructive: weighing and XRF analysis. Destructive fire assay is used for raw gold or doubtful items, with your agreement.

Can I watch the testing?

You should be able to. Prefer buyers who test in front of you.

What if my gold is not what I thought?

Ask to see the result and its explanation. You are free to decline the offer.

Prices

How is an offer calculated?

Fine gold weight × live gold rate − the buyer’s margin. A fair buyer shows each part.

Why do sealed bars get better offers?

They are faster to verify and resell, so the buyer’s margin is lower.

Where can I see today's rate?

On the gold selling rate today page, updated live.
