Gold rate in Dubai today: live price in AED and USD

Gold is priced worldwide in US dollars per troy ounce. The gold rate in Dubai is that dollar price converted into dirhams at the fixed rate of 3.6725 AED per USD, then into the units people use in the UAE.

Because the dirham is pegged to the dollar, the AED price moves only when the international gold price moves. There is no separate currency effect, as there would be for a buyer in euros or rupees.

Gold price chart in AED showing the trend over 30 days

A chart shows the trend; it does not predict the next move. Gold can move a few percent in a week, and many buyers who are not in a hurry spread their purchases over time instead of trying to pick one perfect day.

What moves the gold price

  • The US dollar. A weaker dollar tends to support gold demand from buyers abroad.
  • Interest rates. Gold pays no interest. When rates fall, holding gold becomes relatively more attractive.
  • Inflation and uncertainty. In periods of inflation, conflict or market stress, investors often turn to gold.
  • Central banks. Large purchases by central banks add steady demand.
  • Seasonal demand. Festival and wedding seasons in India and the Gulf lift physical demand for bars and coins.

None of these guarantees a direction. This site shows prices and facts, not forecasts or investment advice.

Use today’s price when you buy or sell

  • Buying: ask a dealer for the total price of a named bar, then compare it with the bar’s value above. The gap is the premium.
  • Selling: estimate your gold with the gold value calculator and compare buyers’ offers on the gold selling rate today page.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the gold price today in Dubai?

The live price is at the top of this page, per gram, tola, ounce and kilo, in AED and USD. It updates automatically about every minute.

How much is 1 gram of gold in Dubai?

See the live price per gram (24K 999.9) in the table. A 1 gram bar from a dealer costs this gold value plus a premium, which is relatively high on such a small bar.

How much per gram of gold in the UAE: is it different in Abu Dhabi or Sharjah?

The reference rate is the same across the UAE, because it comes from the international market in US dollars and the dirham is pegged to the dollar. Sellers differ only in the premium they add.

What is the gold rate in Dubai for 10 grams?

Multiply the live 24K gram price by 10, or look at the 10 gram bar card on this page, which does it for you.

Why is the price of a gold bar higher than the gold rate?

The gold rate is the value of the metal only. A bar also carries refining, minting, certification and distribution costs: the premium. It falls, per gram, as bars get bigger.

Is this the same as the jewellery gold rate published in Dubai?

No. Rates displayed by jewellery shops apply to jewellery, with making charges on top. This page shows the bullion value of investment gold.

How often is the gold price updated?

About every minute while the page is open. The source quote refreshes every 30 seconds; the time of the last quote is shown next to the prices.

Why does the status say the market is closed?

The international gold market pauses at the weekend. During that time the last available price is shown, with its time.

Compare any dealer's quote with the live value of the gold in the bar. The difference is the premium you pay.
